The Lord had put our offices at Community Lutheran Church in Salt Lake (behind the old COSTCO) for a reason...One of those reasons was to discover a "gem" of a person in Gaye Drummond. Gaye and her family were recent transplants from Tuscon, Arizona and had started worshipping at CLCC. Initially, we were referred to Gay's mother-in-law, a retired psychiatrist, as a replacement for Alana Ammons, who was blessed with a new job at Aloha Pregnancy Center. Instead, she referred her daughter-in-law Gaye to us and our prayers were answered! Gaye quickly understood the mission of Common Grace and set about organizing the office, files and operations for Common Grace. As we prayed together and worked together, it became obvious that God had called Gaye to Common Grace at a very crucial time and season, when we are looking at expansion island-wide and state-wide.
By the same token, we knew that this "gem" was much too valuable to keep to ourselves for long. Recently, Gaye was appointed as director of a Lutheran Pre-school near Punahou. While we send her off with our love prayers, we also pray that Gaye will continue to serve Common Grace on a limited basis.
We are also praying that some of you out there will help as a volunteer or find volunteers in our office to continue Gaye's good works. Do you have time for Common Grace? Call us at 282-6194 if you can spend a few evening hours a week in our office.
GOD will be glorified!
